Jonathan Shelton isn't just a healthcare provider in this community — he's part of it. Born and raised in Abingdon, Virginia, Jonathan grew up walking the same streets, attending the same schools, and building the same kind of roots that define life in Southwest Virginia. A proud graduate of Abingdon High School, he's never lost sight of where he came from — or who he's here to serve.

After earning his undergraduate degree at East Tennessee State University, Jonathan completed his physician assistant training at Bethel University in McKenzie, Tennessee. Over 13 years in practice, he has built deep expertise across physical medicine and rehabilitation, orthopedics, sports medicine, and general practice care.

His Story

A Provider Who Never Left Home.

Jonathan didn't open this practice to chase a trend — he opened it because he saw a gap in his hometown. The people of Abingdon and Southwest Virginia deserve access to advanced, personalized specialty care without driving hours to find it. Skyline Healthcare is his answer to that need.

As a PA-C, Jonathan brings something to every patient encounter that no credential can fully capture: genuine investment. He listens carefully, explains clearly, and treats every patient the way he'd want a member of his own family treated.

When he's not in the clinic, Jonathan is at home with his wife of 17 years and their four children — two boys and two girls. Family is the center of his world, and that perspective shapes the way he approaches patient care. He understands what it means to want to feel well, stay active, and be present for the people who depend on you.
